Our School
Opened in 1988, Magna Vista High School is the newest school in the region. The campus consists of a 205,000 square foot building, a state-of the art greenhouse, livestock barn, and extensive athletic facilities situated on a 110 acre tract of land with majestic views in all directions. The school enrolls approximately 1,200 students in grades 9-12 from the communities of Axton, Ridgeway, Spencer, and the eastern and southern suburbs of Martinsville.
The school operates on a 4 x 4 block schedule. The school year is divided into two semesters and six six-week grading periods. Students may obtain eight course credits during one school year.
The Magna Vista mascot is the Warrior. The school colors are navy blue, red, and silver.
Our District
Henry County Schools enrolls 7,751 students in grades K-12. The district consists of two high schools, two middle schools, and eleven primary and elementary schools.
Our Community Henry County, with a population of 57,930, is located in the southwest corner of the Piedmont section of Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains . The county and the surrounding area offer a wide variety of cultural and recreational opportunities, most notably Martinsville Speedway, which hosts two NASCAR Nextel Cup races each year.
